K. Anders Ericsson

We have lost a giant – our beloved colleague Anders Ericsson died the morning of June 17, 2023. Anders was a pillar of the department since 1992 and a scholar who changed how the world thinks about skill acquisition and expert performance.

Anders was also a wonderful mentor, and friend. He possessed an overwhelmingly curious mind – but expressed it with such great humility and grace. He clearly loved scientific discussion and a good laugh with a colleague or student more than his title (Conradi Eminent Scholar of Psychology) or the innumerable accolades that he received from all over the world.

Anders Ericsson is deeply loved by his wife Natalie, his children Lina and Jens, and his grandson Jakob.
